Marshall University: Doc Holliday's 2010 Signing ClassMarshall University Head Football Coach Doc Holliday announced the Thundering Herd's 2010 football signing class Wednesday. "Our goal as a staff was to sign a class good enough to win Conference USA. I believe we met our goal and exceeded expectations in terms of numbers and the quality of student-athletes we have signed," Holliday said. "We have high expectations of these young men on the football field and in the classroom." Holliday's first recruiting class at Marshall features 25 student-athletes from six different states, many of whom were rated three of four stars by most recruiting services. Thirteen of Marshall's signees hail from the state of Florida, four are from Virginia, three from Georgia, two from North Carolina, two from South Carolina and one from Ohio. Marshall's class was balanced in terms of position needs with the Thundering Herd bringing in four defensive backs, four wide receivers and four offensive linemen to lead the way. Overall, The Thundering added student-athletes at 12 different positions, including two listed as athletes. In all, 23 student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent to play at Marshall on Wednesday. Linebacker Trevor Black and long snapper/tight end James Power enrolled at Marshall in January and will take part in spring practice.
